Website Accessibility: Reducing Risks and Improving Consumer Experience

Got a website? You have risk.

Got 30 minutes? We can help.

If you have ever traveled to a foreign country, there is probably a list of questions that you run through to prepare. How will I find my way around? How will I understand the directions someone gives me?

A first visit to any website is not much different from a visit to a foreign country. When you first land there, you have no idea if you are going to be able to find what you need.

For individuals who need assistance for a disability, this concern is compounded. Some people may have tools or personal assistance with navigation, but most rely on the websites they visit to be accessible and usable.

Not only is web accessibility a best practice, it is governed and protected by federal laws and regulations. Health plans and healthcare organizations that receive federal funding face stiff penalties for non-compliance. And new DOJ requirements planned for 2023 make this more important than ever.

Just like you might use a guidebook to help plan travel, during this workshop we will give you our guide to website accessibility that reduces compliance risk, improves site engagement, and creates an overall more positive consumer experience.
